More police is a much more important priority than the unnecessary raises being given to already over-paid corrupt city employees.
We need to put all of these city employees on a 401k retirement before the city becomes bankrupt.
We need slow-growth in the city of Highland. City council members and city officials have focused too much of their attention on getting the newly annexed east end of the city developed (district 5). District 5 is mostly undeveloped area and will bring in upwards of 20,000 new homes, or approximately 50,000+ new residents. The Harmony project will ultimately gridlock our already over-crowded roads going to and from the freeway in Highland and Mentone/Redlands. There is also a severe drought in progress that will last indefinitely and water restriction has already been mandated. And now residents are being asked to help pay for a new water treatment facility to accommodate all of the new homes that are expected to be developed. The fact is that existing residents will pay a fortune to help get the new area developed, just so the developer can make millions of dollars in profit.
Furthermore, there is not enough police and fire and schools to cover all of the new development, which means that all of the city residents will pay to get the new part of the city started.
Our current roads have been neglected too long and they are a shambles!
I'm interested in running for district 4.

You need to get you paper work in ASAP. Call Betty Hughes at the city and make an appointment.
